It’s here, check out my review on the T97 FTU (Flat Top Upper)
Seeing as there are an estimated 2000 Norinco T97’s in Canada now, there remains a list of things in the design that need to be addressed, namely the lack of decent optics mounting. The people behind M14.ca are aggressively tackling this market with a new website called T97.ca, and are getting into prototyping toute suite. Personally, I can’t wait. The rifle is soooo handy and would be even more awesome with a low mounted 1-4x or fixed 3x optic. Very exciting. I’ll be updating with another article once these items get closer to shipping.
Here is their press release:

M14.ca’s web site, T97.ca, begins the prototype manufacture of a flat top, 1913 picatinny optics mount for the T97NSR rifle. The first prototype is scheduled for machining Wednesday October 16th. Details to follow. Shortly after the prototype and testing phase of this part, pre-orders for the flat top picatinny optics mount will be accepted through the T97.ca portal. (No order page present at this writing). This new flat top mount is the first of eight modifications M14.ca will be developing for the Type 97 series of rifles. We look forward to modifying the T97NSR through to the end of the year. Any questions can be directed via PM or via email to [email protected]
Thank-you.
