Savage 111FCXP3 Review
The Savage 111FCXP3 The Savage 111FCXP3 is a budget rifle running under the Savage brand. The new incarnation of this rifle is called the “Hunter XP”, but it’s running with essentially the same components. There was a major update to the 111fcxp3 where they improved the stock, bolt, magazine latch, and magazine. Unlike Savage’s other…

Making Snack sticks and Jerky with Hi Mountain Pepper Blend
There are a few different things you can do with deer meat, but easily one of my favorites is making jerky. Even with a gamey buck, the salt and spice typical of jerky overwhelms and appeals to even picky eaters. When you make deer jerky, you can: Slice flat pieces, and then cure by…

M1A M14 or M305 stocks in Canada
Here in Canada, we’re spoiled with access to the good, cheap Norinco M305 and M14S (check out my M305 / M14S Review here), but we are a bit limited on stock selection. Local dealers have to be import stocks from the US, and there are certain regulations that make that difficult. Some of the aluminum…

Kel-Tec SUB-2000 Review
Kel-Tek has a history of making innovative, inexpensive firearms, and the SUB2000 is no exception. Other than firing out of an 18.5″ barrel to meet Canadian requirements for unrestricted long arms, this rifle is exactly the same as the American version. **December 2017 Update: Check out my new review on the Sub-2000 Gen 2. Better…
