BioAmmo is compostable shotgun ammo made in Spain. Wolverine Supplies asked if I wanted to try some for 3 gun and I did! The 1 1/4 oz target loads piqued my interest and I got some of that.
I didn’t get a chance to run the shells at a 3 gun match for some time: Covid, me moving, and my local range shutting most of its bays (and 3 gun league) delayed my tests for quite some time and now Wolverine Supplies is sold out of the stuff! See their other shotshells here.
At the 3 gun match, the shells ran 100% reliably. No complaints about the performance in my semi auto Browning A5 as it ran fine and the extra little bit of lead shot was nice.
Why compostable ammo?
I think the big draw to running compostable ammo is if you’re hunting over a friends pond or if you just want to put less plastic into the environment. These shells are fairly competitively priced when put next to other duck & goose ammo and they won’t leave plastic wads floating on the water all over the place.
